Today is a special day which is called the HungryGhost Festival. It usually falls on the 15th day of the seventh month in theChinese lunar calendar every year, also known as the Ghost Festival inChina, the Obon Festival inJapan. It is said that the king of thehell will release all ghosts on this day, and that the folk will hold activitiesto worship ghosts. There is no doubt that it is the most important day for theghosts. Besides, there are many taboos we ought to pay attention to, including avoidtaking those things that could bring spirits like red rope, bells, chimes, etcand avoid going out at night. If you encounter some supernatural events, don't bepanic, but just focus all the attention on yourself and open your eyes.
Taboos:
1. Hang wind bell on your bedside. Bellsare easy to attract good brothers. while when your are sleeping, it is theeasiest time to be invaded.
2. Steal and eat sacrifices. These are the food of good brothers. Using them without their consent will only bring you hard luck.
3. Insolate clothes in the evening. When agood brother feels your clothes look good, he will borrow and wear them as wellas leave his taste on the clothes.
4. Call names. When arranging the nightcruise, it is suggested that you should use the code so that your name will notto be remembered by the good brothers.
5. Swimming. You can not go swimming indangerous waters, because the legend says that the "lost" will findpeople as the scapegoat for reincarnation.

7. Stay up late. The most important time that

｜中元节禁忌｜

9.捡路边的钱。这些钱是用来买通牛头马面的，如果侵犯了他们东西，就很容易被他们教训。
10.不能随地勾肩搭背。人的身上有3把火，头顶一把，左右肩膀各一把，只要灭了其中一把，就容易被好兄弟“上身”。
11.拖鞋头朝床的方向。好兄弟会看鞋头的方向来判断生人在哪里，如果鞋头朝床头摆，那麽好兄弟就会上床和你一起睡。
12.筷子插在饭中央。这是祭拜的模式，就好比香插在香炉上，此举只会招来好兄弟来与你分享食物…
13.晚上拍照。此举动容易将灵界的朋友一起拍进来，然后带回家。
