How to read a paper

This paper is very useful and I made a summary about the three-pass method for myself

 

First Pass

Know the category and context.

• title, abstract, introduction, the section and sub-section headings, conclusions
• glance at the mathematical content

 

Second Pass

Note down questions you want to ask the author.

• figures
• relevant unread references

 

Third Pass

Reconstruct the paper.

• assumptions
• techs
• future work
