Why English

The majority of undergraduates have learned English for no less than six or even nine years. English is not only a language but also a required course for either middle schools or high schools in China. What's more, English test is included in CEE.

A Huge Challenge

When we come to the colleges. Students have their major subjects but we have to study English sometimes. When I was a high school students, I even say to my English teacher that No more English Will I Learn After Entering A College. Unfortunately, that is a tragedy now. However, I seldom feel horrible or sorrow about it, that means I just feel despairing. All right, that's a joke. As a matter of fact, I fall in love with this feeling that meet the challenge of a language which is a curving and tough way to achieve the top of a mountain.

My Reasons

To some extent, there might be some higher peaks that I have climbed successfully, but to distinguish the academy and life, English is classed to the life for me, nothing is more difficult for me than learning English well. I attribute this recognition to three points.

• firstly, more friends I can have with a great English. There are more than 1.4 billion people speak English, and most of them are Chinese and ethnic Chinese. However, the fact is that there are too many countries and regions regard English as one of the most popular and widely used language. With English, I can transmit my idea to others while friends from different areas have capability to make me get them.

• Secondly, not all the books, articles and papers are written by or translated to Chinese, which means providing that I would not to give priority to Chinese reading, English reading is equal to any mother language. If we pay emphasis to English and respect it, it is no denied that double and even treble knowledge will be accessible to me.

• Thirdly, It is a huge challenge for me to learn English well, at least I conscious that. Daily words, daily sentences (maybe have not been done now), daily, weekly and monthly review etc. are all horrible, especially I just have little accumulation of English word.

Above are all. English Learning is a fundamental and crucial part and notion in my daily life.
