Morning, Sunday!

How do we tell if a company is in trouble? Here you get a list of signs I look for when trying to assess the state of a company with regards to their prosperity - let alone survival - in the coming years.

Some of the signs are straight forward while others require some study and insights into the company, but you get the idea. What would you suggest that we should look for?

# Top executives and top lieutenants have too much focus on day-to-day activities compared to creating the future

# Top executives are not personally involved in talent management across the organization (identify needs, identify/hire/retain/retrain talent)

# No clear strategy with regards to big data, ML and AI

# Middle managers stop innovation just by doing their job

# Innovation is seen as a R&D activity led by a traditional CTO person

# No transformation strategy in place (all companies need this, some more urgently than others)

# There is both a digital strategy and overall strategy - there should only be one strategy that fits a world that is already digital

# Strong focus on barriers and obstacles that slow the company down rather than identifying, addressing root causes responsible for them

# Too little focus on new and merging industries

# No purpose in the company, no passion among the employees
