There was a long period of time,I am disgusted by train.This is mainly because in my mind,taking a train is a dangerous thing.I’ve heard a lot of bad news about the train from the newspaper or the TV,such as robbery,fights,muders.Until those three amazing train experiences that i had encountered change my views.
The first time I take a train was two years ago.At that time,I should go back to college after the Spring Festival.A friend who works in Guangzhou suggested me taking a train with her.Having a companion during the trip is such a wonderful thing that i couldn't refuse.She bought the ticket a months ago,so she had a seat .She invited me to sit with her. Neither of us is a big girl ,so we didn't feel very crowded.Along the way, We talked a lot.For the first time,five hours trip is no longer a long journey for me.And that day still is in the Spring Festival period,there is no doubt that full of people in the train station.But what i figured out was people here were in a very orderly queue. What's more,I didn't witness or come across the robbery,even there's not a quarrel.
One year later,after two weeks winter vacation,I need to take a train to Guangzhou.This time,I was going to meet a foreign friend,so I didn't have many luggage as before.I only have an umbrella and a bag in my hand.While waiting for the train's arrival,a young mother came to me for help.She explained that she needs to hold her son's hand,and the other hand needs to take two heavy bags.She didn't have another hand to hold her daughter.She wanted me to hold her daughter .I agreeed and held the little girl till they found their seat.The young mother was very grateful for my help.Then she asked me where my seat was.I said I dont have enough good luck to get a seat ticket.After hearing my replied,she said she has three tickets.I can sit holding her daughter.Her daughter heard and stood up immediately.They both invited me to sit.I sat down at last.On the road,we talked a lot,especially with the 9 years old girl.She told me countless things,such as the interesting places,funny things in elementary school,her hobbies.I enjoy hearing she called me sister,I enjoy seeing her beautiful smile,I enjoy watching her sign language performance.I also enjoy the way she asked me questions .Beside, I really appreciate the young mother's advice on making friends with foreigner ,which are helpful.
Since these two train experiences had given me so many good memories,this time,i took the initiative to buy a train ticket.And I was lucky enough to buy a seat ticket.My seat number is 35,i didn't know whether my number is a window seat or not,but because i always prefer a window seat,so I chose to sit in the window seat.As I sat down,a middle-aged man appeared.He asked me what my number was.I said it is 35.He said number 35 is an aisle seat.So I had to change with him.Five minutes later,he suggested change my seat, for it is more convenient for him to take care his daughter ,who sitting opposite.We changed again.In the next two hours,we didn't have a conversation.I listened to music for an hour,slept half an hour, and ate half an hour.Then I began playing with my phone,the man showed me a handicraft he just made.It is amazing.It is lattern made of colorful beads .He told me it was a gift for the poor children.He learnt this craft from an organization named Small Finsh Volunteer.He then asked me if I had heard of this organization.I say I once heard it from one of my high school classmate.He continued to tell me that this organization is mainly distribute donations and raise money to poor families.He thinks it is more meaningful to help poor people than to playing mahjong in order to kill the leisure time,which i am totally agreeed.Meanwhile,he showed me some pictures,and particularly pointed out a picture,told me the stories about this picture.He says this family is poorest family.From the picture i can see that they live in a shabby house,which without doors. Four people in this family ,including a 72 years old grandfather,71 years old grandmother,a middle-aged father who lost sight two years ago,a primary school boy.The boy wants to continue studying but his father cannot afford to pay for lodging and meals.Now the organization pays these costs for the family and encourages him study harder.Besides,he mentioned that he was shocked when he heard the boy said he already hasn't eaten meat for five or six years.The organization plans to make a meal for the family in a few days. I know they will do that for sure.I have a kind of respect for him and people like him.They bring warmth and love to the poor.Meanwhile,they come to realize how lucky they are to own so many things that some people cannot even dare to expect.And they will cherish and appreciate what they have.
Needless to say,I'm really enjoy taking train now because those three amazing experiences.Having a conversation with stranger during the long and bored trip is really an awesome thing.It is nice to be a good listener or a good speaker.John Donne once said "No man is an island,entire of itself;Every man is a piece of the continent,a part of the main."We do not thrive by being alone.All the people you meet leave an imprint on you,even if in a small part and you leave the same imprint on those people.Beside,I enjoying share thing s people,by sharing,our gains are magnified and our losses mitigated,our lives are eaiser.
