First day: “ Welcome to Rome”

The journey started with a visit at Piazza Di Spagna and Colosseo in Rome, historic city and capital of Italy.

Rome was founded in 753 BC by Romulus. Roman legend says that Romulus had a twin brother called Remus. As babies they were abandoned in the area which later became Rome. A she-wolf found and raised them, but when they grew up Romulus fought and killed Remus and became the first ruler of Rome. Rome is the Eternal City, remaining today a political capital, a religious centre, and a memorial to the creative imagination of the past.

The Piazza di Spagna (English: Square of Spain) is one ofRome’s most renowned squares. The name comes from the “Palazzo di Spagna”, the seat of the Spanish Embassy for the Vatican located on this square since the seventeenth century. The Spanish Steps (we talking about 135 steps!) were built at the beginning of the eighteenth century connecting Piazza di Spagna and the Church of Trinità dei Monti. It is one of the most famous parts of Rome.

The Colosseum was built between 72 A.D and 80 A.D under the Emperor Vespasian, in the heart of Ancient Rome. Made from stone and concrete, this magnificent monument was built with the man power of tens of thousands of slaves. The Colosseum is the largest “amphitheater” (meaning “theatre in the round”) in the world! This brilliant building had 80 entrances and could seat approximately 50,000 spectators who would come to watch sporting events and games.

第一天"欢迎来到罗马"

旅程始于对意大利历史名城和首都罗马的“Piazza di Spagna”和“Colosseo”的访问。

罗马始建于公元前753年，由"罗穆卢斯"创立。罗马传说，"Romulus"有一个孪生兄弟叫Remus。出生不久，他们被弃置在后来成为罗马的地区。一只狼发现并抚养他们，但当他们长大后，因为权力Romulus杀死Remus，并成为罗马的第一个统治者。罗马是永恒的城市，今天仍然是一个政治首都，一个宗教中心，和一个纪念过去创造性想象力的城市。

斯帕尼亚广场是罗马最著名的广场之一。这个名字来自"Palazzo di Spagna"，这是西班牙梵蒂冈大使馆自十七世纪起就位于这个广场上的所在地。西班牙阶梯（我们谈论的135步！）建于十八世纪初，连接西班牙广场和”trinità dei monti教堂”。它是罗马最著名的地方之一。

What about food in Rome?

Our clients enjoyed a great dinner in a famous roman restaurant.

Traditional Roman food is based on dried pasta such as rigatoni, Bucatini (hollow spaghetti) and regular spaghetti, a great start for every meal. Among the better known dishes are the bucatini all’Amatriciana, a dish that takes its name from the town of Amatrice. “Spaghetti alla carbonara”, are spaghetti dressed with a mix of raw eggs, pancetta, pepper, parmesan and/or pecorino cheese. Penne all’arrabbiata are so called because of their particularly spicy sauce, made with chilli pepper.

罗马的食物呢？

我们的客户在著名的罗马餐厅享用了丰盛的晚餐。传统的罗马美食以通心粉，意大利面条（Bucatini）等干面食为基础。 其中最有名的菜是bucatini all’Amatriciana，它的名字来源于Amatrice镇。 “意粉通心粉”意粉是将生鸡蛋，培根，胡椒，帕玛森和/或佩克立诺奶酪混合而成的意大利面条。 之所以这样称呼Penne all’arrabbiata，是因为它们的辣椒酱特别辣。
