安装Fedora时遇到unable to find any devices of the type needed for this installation type问题的解决

新机器，默认带的WinXP，安装Fedora 5时遇到错误无法进行下去，会提示：

Unable to find any devices of the type needed for this installation type

would you like to manually select your driver or a driver disk

 

怎么都过不去。

当然，可以选择从WinXP硬盘安装，不过想将硬盘完全安装成Fedora，硬盘安装的话就不行了。

经过搜索，终于解决了。在机器重启后，出现安装启动项的时候，按"ESC"，进入命令行，输入以下命令，回车，就可以了：

linux all-generic-ide irqpoll pci=nommconf

 

好像是硬件与SATA/IDE设备的关系，这个不是学习的重点，就没有深究。如果有知道为什么这样的同学，欢迎指教！^_^

安装好后，由于是新机器，默认没有合适的网卡驱动，需要重新安装。下载驱动程序及相关：

在http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pub/archive/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/

下载下列软件包并安装到FC5：

kernel-smp-devel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.i686.rpm

kernel-smp-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.i686.rpm

hardlink-1.0-1.21.2.i386.rpm

新机器网卡是r8168的，下载相应的驱动：

https://code.google.com/p/r8168/downloads/list

下载最新版源码，如：r8168-8.031.00.tar.bz2

解压并进入解压后的目录，以root权限运行./autorun.sh，即可安装成功。
