Alice was not a bit hurt， and she jumped up on to her feet in a moment： she looked up， but it was all dark overhead； before her was another long passage， and the White Rabbit was still in sight， hurrying down it. There was not a moment to be lost： away went Alice like the wind， and was just in time to hear it say， as it turned a corner， “Oh my ears and whiskers， how late it’s getting！” She was close behind it when she found herself in a long， low hall， which was lit up by a row of lampshanging from the roof.

爱丽丝一点儿都不觉得疼，她一个猛子跳起来站好，然后抬头望了望，头顶上是一片漆黑。而在她面前的是另一条走廊，在这走廊上还能看得见那位兔子先生。她急忙沿着走廊跑了下去，一点儿功夫都不耽搁。爱丽丝跑得呼呼生风，在小白兔转过一个拐角的时候，她恰好又听见那兔子嘀嘀咕咕地讲：“噢，我的耳朵！哇，我的胡子！这晚得多么无可忍受啊！”爱丽丝跟在后面慢慢靠近，但转过转角时却发现小白兔不见了。她发现自己置身于一座长长的、矮矮的，被一串吊灯照得灯火通明的大堂里。
