一、发音纠正

sit [sɪt] 

sick [sɪk] 

同样是两个大家非常熟悉并且常说的单词,但是很多同学会把sit发成s-ee-t, sick发成s-ee-k。他们这样就把这个短元音/ɪ/和长元音/iː/混在一起了。不少同学的错误理解是,短元音不过是长元音的一个缩短版本,除了发音时长,其它部分比如口型是完全不变的。

元音/ɪ/的正确发音方法:

微微放低下巴,舌尖向前抵住下齿,将舌前部向硬腭尽量抬起,嘴唇放松(非常重要!如果是长元音/iː/,嘴唇会稍微紧绷并向两边咧开),微张(大约一个小拇指宽度,/iː/的口型嘴唇张开幅度更小)。

Well, actually, I prefer teachers who often supervise my study and work. Firstly, I’m the kind of person who always procrastinates and gets my work done until the last minute. So with teachers supervising me, I am bound to stick to my schedule. So, I extremely need someone to remind me every now and then that I should stick to my schedule. Sticking to my schedule can contribute to the cultivation of time management skills. 

Secondly, I am easily distracted. Every little thing will distract me from doing homework. Without teachers supervising me, studying would be a big time commitment. Teachers help me stay focused and boost efficiency. So because of these two reasons, I prefer the former statement.
