World top 500 is a popular Chinese call for the list of the world's largest five hundred companies selected annually by the US Fortune magazine.Fortune 500 has always been the most famous and authoritative list of big companies in the world.
Therefore, I collected the list of Chinese enterprises in Fortune World top 500 from 2000 to 2017,and made the following drawings to show the development of China's economy.
We can see that only 9 enterprises entered the world top 500 from 2000, and the number came to 115 in 2017, while the ranking of them is not low. The top 5 are 3 enterprises in China, namely, the State Grid, Sinopec Group and China National Petroleum Corporation. Its turnover has also increased considerably. It can be seen that in the past 17 years, Chinese enterprises have been developing rapidly and catching up with other world powers.
From the water drop map above, only 1.8% of 2000 accounted for almost negligible in the water drop map. After years of continuous development, the proportion has gradually increased，reaching 23% in 2017. There are more and more water in the water drop map. From negligible to visible, we can say that China's economic development is obvious to all.
On a whole, there is no doubt that China's economy is on the rise. However, One of the unusual is that in 2003, the number of Chinese enterprises entering the list declined instead of rising, which only 8 entered the list.
Actually, in the early selection of Fortune World Top 500, Chinese enterprises in Fortune 500 is very few.
World top 500 in real sense is the Fortune magazine published in 1995. In this period, the largest number of the list was the United States and Japan, 151 and 149 respectively, and the total 300 enterprises in the two countries listed on the list, accounting for 60% of the total.China only listed 3, less than 1%，not only far below the United States and Japan, but also lower than Germany, France, Britain, Italy and South Korea.
By 2017, the United States was still number one, but the number of listed enterprises dropped to 132. But China has become the second largest country in World top 500，while China's list of the world top 500 enterprises has exceeded the sum of Japan, Germany, South Korea and India. The rapid development of China's economy has brought about tremendous changes.
Some of China's enterprises are also frequent listed to World top 500.From the frequency of the entry and the overall ranking,5 enterprises were selected.
Top5 is Sinopec Group (18 times), the State Grid(17 times), China National Petroleum Corporation (17 times), ICBC (17 times), China Construction Bank (17 times).
All five enterprises are state-owned enterprises. It can be seen that the support of policies can promote the growth of an enterprise.
