Hi guys! Welcome back to our journey in the music world! I am one of the Three Cookies,
and I will show you one of my favorite rappers and his lyrics about life!
Now, let’s start our second station!
When people talk about hip-pop and rappers, they tend to use words like “anger”“dirty” “noisy”. Hip-pop really doesn’t sound like good music, right? However, many rappers seem angry, actually they just use a seemingly angry way to expresstheir emotions and thoughts about the world. And some of their lyrics aremeaningful and they want to use their songs to change some bad phenomenon.
This guy named MGK, which shorts for Machine Gun Kelly.
He is a 28-year-old single father, also a rapper who wears more than 5 tattoos. He tattooed almost every important thing in his life.
On his left shoulder was some symbols from the book 1984, which influences him in
many ways. See?Rappers do read. The “rap god” Eminem once made a dictionary torn down just to make sure his lyrics in rhyme all the time.
MGK is a wild boy in the rap world. He uses words boldly and one of his songs is almost full of “Niggas”. His speed is very high and I bet that’s why his name is Machine Gun Kelly.
He likes to use the term “lace up”, which means he is fully equipped for his journey in the rap world. He calls himself rager, which is a transformation ofrage, to show everyone that he is a radical.
Not long after his debuting, his lyrics have a feeling that he has confidence andis fearless. Here’s some lyrics from his song Invincible:
I am from the city of people, came from the bottom
Standing on top of what was supposed to be my coffin, whats up
Except for shows, we are the dead man walking
But reflections show this kid’s still got it
Better be known I got the throne like I don’t know that there’s a king
Never grew up around a family because I’m not a human being
And anyone under my bubble that’s coming in my spot, for the top
Let’em have it, cause when I leave, the whole world drops
Lace up kells
And after four years, he seems grew up, in Against The World, he raps like:
Respect no other, put no man above each other
This is what you live out when you trying to make it out the gutter
This is how you show that precious little baby girl you love her
This is how you step up as a man and get that bread and butter
Atthis time, he cherishes his identity as a father. He starts to reflect on hislife and put encouragements into his lyrics:
Gotto keep it going
Gotto keep my head up
Cause life is about
Aight check this out
Life is about making mistakes
It’s also about trying to be great
Do not let failure scare you away
I know you fed up
You fall get up
And in his latest album Bloom, he becomes more mature because of his idol’s death, and wrote a song to memorize him. His song is no more a hate song, he puts hispower in it and spreads to more people to encourage them to live a better life.He grows in his songs.
I want end this article with his lyrics, which is also the best in my eyes.
I shout, I swear, I get angry, I get scared
I fall, I break, I mess up, I make mistakes
But if you can’t take me at my worst
You don’t deserve me at my best.
In those rappers’ eyes, life is “shit”, but they don’t want to live like shits. They use their words to give vent to their emotions, and then in the next day they face their lives and fight with all these shitting things.
Remembe rthat, the easiest thing is also the most difficult thing. Never give up and always look up!
