练习材料:L32-2A lost ship  时长:1'05

The captain of the Elkor ordered his men to salvage as much as possible from the wreck.

ðə ˈkæptən ʌv ði ˈɛlkər ˈɔrdərd hɪz mɛn tu ˈsælvəʤ æz mʌʧ æz ˈpɑsəbəl frʌm ðə rɛk.

Nothing of value was found, but the numerous items which were brought to the surface proved to be of great interest.

ˈnʌθɪŋ ʌv ˈvælju wʌz faʊnd, bʌt ðə ˈnumərəs ˈaɪtəmz wɪʧ wɜr brɔt tu ðə ˈsɜrfəs pruvd tu bi ʌv greɪt ˈɪntrəst.

From a heavy gun that was raised, the captain realized that the ship must have been a cruiser.

frʌm ə ˈhɛvi gʌn ðæt wʌz reɪzd, ðə ˈkæptən ˈriəˌlaɪzd ðæt ðə ʃɪp mʌst hæv bɪn ə ˈkruzər.

In another chest, which contained the belongings of a ship's officer,

ɪn əˈnʌðər ʧɛst, wɪʧ kənˈteɪnd ðə bɪˈlɔŋɪŋz ʌv ə ʃɪps ˈɔfəsər,

there was an unfinished letter which had been written on March 14th, 1943.

ðɛr wʌz ən ənˈfɪnɪʃt ˈlɛtər wɪʧ hæd bɪn ˈrɪtən ɑn mɑrʧ 14ˈtiˈeɪʧ, 1943.

The captain learnt from the letter that the name of the lost ship was the Karen.

ðə ˈkæptən lɜrnt frʌm ðə ˈlɛtər ðæt ðə neɪm ʌv ðə lɔst ʃɪp wʌz ðə ˈkɛrən.

The most valuable find of all was the ship's log book, parts of which it was still possible to read.

ðə moʊst ˈvæljəbəl faɪnd ʌv ɔl wʌz ðə ʃɪps lɔg bʊk, pɑrts ʌv wɪʧ ɪt wʌz stɪl ˈpɑsəbəl tu rid.

From this the captain was able to piece together all the information that had come to light.

frʌm ðɪs ðə ˈkæptən wʌz ˈeɪbəl tu pis təˈgɛðər ɔl ði ˌɪnfərˈmeɪʃən ðæt hæd kʌm tu laɪt.

The Karen had been sailing in a convoy to Russia when she was torpedoed by an enemy submarine.

ðə ˈkɛrən hæd bɪn ˈseɪlɪŋ ɪn ə ˈkɑnˌvɔɪ tu ˈrʌʃə wɛn ʃi wʌz tɔrˈpiˌdoʊd baɪ ən ˈɛnəmi ˈsʌbməˌrin.

This was later confirmed by a naval official at the Ministry of Defense after the Elkor had returned home.

ðɪs wʌz ˈleɪtər kənˈfɜrmd baɪ ə ˈneɪvəl əˈfɪʃəl æt ðə ˈmɪnəstri ʌv dɪˈfɛns ˈæftər ði ˈɛlkər hæd rɪˈtɜrnd hoʊm.

All the items that were found were sent to the War Museum.

ɔl ði ˈaɪtəmz ðæt wɜr faʊnd wɜr sɛnt tu ðə wɔr mjuˈziəm.
