1.Various teams on the Earth have been literally working around clock to put together Project Iris. What is the outcome of this project? And please share your thoughts of it.

The outcome of this project is dreadful. Because the team fails to send Iris, the gay probe due to insufficient inspection. Actually I am quite  amazed towards this accident. The author is quite unkind to Watney! How can he devise those adversities on him incessantly??

2. Who is it that makes the final decision? And how?

The Commander Lewis has the final say: they decide to rescue Watney. Lewis understands it will be very risky and she asks for everyone’s opinion. The decision could only be passed with unanimity.

3.The end is near. Watney is going to Schiaparelli Crater, but not so fast. He first needs to do a shitload of preparation. However, during this process, what fatal mistake does he make?

The pathfinder was broken due to the overload of electronic current. Consequently he lost the contact with the earth.

4.Anyway, all the physical labor has taken its toll on Watney's back. What does he do to relieve the pain? And how does he do it?

He uses the radiation from RTG to generate heat, making himself some hot water to relieve the hurt from the back.

5.According to Johanssen's FaceTime with her father, what kind of "plan" has been made? Any thoughts on this? 

Johanssen will be the only one to survive while others will take pills to suicide. She can subsist on the bodies of the other crew when faced with food shortage. Well, cannibalism is cruel, let alone to chew up the ones who you work and live together. But we can’t underestimate the will to survive.

6Why does Watney give himself the title "Space Pirate"?

After he boards Ares 4, he will commandeer a craft in international waters without permission. That makes him a “space pirate”.

7. Since this time, the trip is going to be significantly longer, what does he do to make sure this problem does not repeat itself?

He depressurizes the Hab, cuts some canvas from the Hab to make a larger bedroom for himself, and then put the Hab together with resin.

8.This is the last chapter before Watney officially leaves for Schiaparelli Crater. Please summarize the THREE main activities he has accomplished in this final stage of his preparation.
