Choice and Discrimination

      As we have studied yesterday, scarcity is not enough, so you have to make a choice at this point. Once you make a choice, you need rely on a standard. The standard of choice is distinction, which is called discrimination in Economics. We can never avoid discrimination, because the resources are limited that we can not use a piece of wood to build a house if we choose to use it as a pencil, time is limited that we can’t stay at home watching TV if we choose to go to movies at the same time, money is limited that I can’t buy someone else record if we choose to buy Wang Fei’s record. When you bought Wang Fei’s record, other singers were discriminated against you . Marriage is also a choice, if you married your life, it means you discriminate against other women in the world.

      我們昨天學了稀缺，稀缺是因為東西不夠，所以這時候你就必須做出選擇，一旦做選擇就必須有選擇的標準。這標準就是“區別對待”。在經濟學中稱為“歧視”。我們永遠不能避免歧視。比如資源有限，一塊木材用來做鉛筆就不能用來蓋房；時間有限，去看電影就不能在同一時間在家看電視；金錢有限，買了王菲的唱片就買不了別人的唱片,当你买王菲唱片的时候你就“歧视”了其他明星。婚姻也是选择，选择必会产生歧视，你与她结婚就意味着你“歧视”了世界上其他女人。
