（大家都知道nine是九。它是个数中最高的一位，从这个角度来理解，dressed to the nines是穿着达到了最高级的程度。这是个来自英国的习惯用语。注意里面的nine带有复数词尾-s。还得注意的是这里的dressed是过去分词，带有词尾-ed, 因为这个习惯用语是用来描绘穿着打扮处于什么状况的。）

（最早出现在14世纪，指的是压上自己所有的财富玩丢骰子的游戏，目标是投出六或七，风险相当高（游戏名称已经失传因此也不清楚为啥骰子还能投出7）；直到17世纪中期，词组的意思发生了变化，多指处于一种很混乱的状态）

Don't reveal too much personal information. You should not use coarse or offensive languages. You could use small talks to engage people and make them comfortable with you. For example,you could use the following sentences as a small talk. Your suit is well tailored. Where did you have it made? Or how is the weather? Be sure to use small talks whenever you meet new people. They really enjoy brief and light conversations.

For this time I'd like talk about some inspiration I have got from the speech by J. K. Rowling in Harvard University. Now that we're here to practice our English especially to improve the ability of making speech, the the first priority is how we write the article for the speech. Here I'd like to share a couple of sentences and explore how Rowling starts her speech as following.
"Not only has Harvard given me an extraordinary honor, but the weeks of fear and nausea I have endured at the thought of giving this commencement address have made me lose weight. A win-win situation!
Delivering a commencement address is a great responsibility; or so
I thought until I cast my mind back to my graduation. The commencement speaker that day was the distinguished British philosopher Baroness Mary Warnock. It seems the rest of the world could learn a thing or two from the Netherlands. After all sn't happiness what every parent ultimately wants for their child? So what's different?
1. Dutch parents don't stress out about school.
There is little pressure to meet goals, and education isn't even structured until age 6 , when a child has been in school for three years.
If a kid is slow to read, no one worries; he or she will catch up eventually. The environment is friendlier overall, since the competitive element just isn't there.
The Unicef study found: "Dutch children are among the least likely to feel pressured by schoolwork and scored highly in terms of finding their classmates friendly and helpful."
2. Dutch parents are happy, which means their kids are happy.
Dutch parents don't try to be perfect.
They accept the fact that they'll make plenty of mistakes while parenting.
Culturally, there are many more fathers who take an active role in parenting, which takes pressure off mothers.
3. Getting outside
Dutch kids are given a lot of independence from a young age. They're encouraged to go places on their own, usually riding their bicycles.
"Sporting activities are rarely cancelled due to bad weather," which means that kids learn to adapt with proper rain gear.
They play outside unsupervised, as parents believe it develops important independence skills. (This is smart because it takes a huge burden off the parent, too.)
"Independent outdoor play is seen as the antidote to breeding passive, media-addicted couch potatoes."
It sounds like the Dutch have really struck the perfect balance.
For all those high-strung helicopter parents out there, it's time to take a step back and realize that, maybe, doing less of everything is your kid's ticket to true happiness.
