Step 1 Brainstorm
1.Do you often say “Thank you” to people around you?Why? ( Suggested answer: Yes.I often say “Thank you”. It is polite when they help me or show kindness to me.)
2.How do you feel when you are praised for something you have done well?
( Suggested answer: I like it when people praise me for something I have done well. It makes me happy and I feel proud of myself. )
3.How do you feel when you when someone says “Thank you” for something you have done for them?
(Suggested answer: I feel better if someone say “Thank you” to me when I do something for them. They don’t say anything, sometimes I get annoyed.)

Step 2 Watch Part 1 and Part 2 of the video and answer the questions below.
1.What is Dr. Laura Trice going to talk about? (Dr. Laura Trice discusses about the magic words “Thank you”. 设空填词: She is talking about the importance of praise,admiration and “thank you”, and having it be specific and genuine.)
2. Why did she become interested in this topic?
( She has some personal experience. She noticed that when she was growing up, and until about recently, she would want to say “Tthank you” to someone, and she would want to praise them, she would want to take in the praise of her, but she just stop it.)
3.What question did she ask?
( Am I the only one who does this?)
4.What did she decide to do in order to find answers to her question?
(She decided to investigate into it.)
