This year was my first year at ACG, which I have previously mentioned in past articles. But, along with that, it’s also my first year doing examinations.
Examinations and tests are completely different. Tests are much smaller than exams and only test a small portion of what you’ve been learning. They’re still important but, are quite often and are between classes. Exams on the other hand are only twice a year and test everything you’ve learnt in the past term. So immediately you would think that revising your topics for the exam would be a good idea. And you’re right.
Revising in general is a gruelling process and time consuming. For a test, revising is quite simple and easy. You just have to do some past tests and make some practise questions and read over your notes. For an exam though, revision takes 150% more time. All the topics will be tested in the span of one week and all the topics have one terms worth of information.
So being the first year I have had to adjust to the rhythm here. Back in my old intermediate, tests were the biggest thing that happened, they were very easy and were only once every term. At least for mathematics. Exams are hard, being as they are. I gotten through them though and as I’m speaking (writing) I’m on the bus preparing for another two today. Science and Humanities.
