新闻内容包括：特朗普访问伊拉克，一个移民小孩在美国边境收容站死亡，苏旦爆发游行示威。
第一个新闻是特朗普访问伊拉克。
特朗普访问了美军驻伊拉克基地，慰问当地士兵，顺便推销自己的边境建墙事业，损了一把民主党。’I don’t know if you folks are aware of what’s happening. We want to have strong borders in the United States, and Democrats don’t want to let us have strong borders. Only for one reason - you know why? - because I want it.’
大家认为特朗普这次访问在感恩节那段时间受到批评说他从没去过战区慰问军士，而他的前任者们都有去过多次。另一方面他最近的撤军导致国防部长辞职，他也想对撤军问题表态。‘President Trump has made these choices recently that have led to the resignation of his secretary of defense. …… He defended those decisions to pull troops out of Syria’。 defend这个词是防御，辩护的意思。像打官司，研究生答辩啥的都是用这个defend。
特朗普表示不能老是保护别的国家，结果还得不到回馈。另外现在在伊拉克的驻军将会是一个基地，以防叙利亚发生啥。因为ISIS还没有被彻底清除，并有可以东山再起。’the group has not been wiped out of existence and has the potential to regroup.‘
特朗普还表示自己会给军士们长工资，不过这个已经被揭穿了，军士的工资本来就是每年会上上涨，并不是他的功劳啥的。debunk 是揭穿意思，it has been widely debunked.
特朗普的访问并没有与伊拉克当局正式会面，不过两方通了电话。白宫新闻发言人说这是后勤组织的锅，因为行程要保密，结果特朗普到那后，伊拉克当局来不及赶到那里。’The White House press secretary Sarah Sanders blamed that on logistics. ‘ press secretary 是指新闻秘书，press有挤压的意思，还有新闻，出版物等的意思。blame that on logistics表示归责于后勤组织。logistics 表示逻辑，后勤，物流组织等。
第二个新闻是一个移民小孩在美国边境收容站死亡的问题。
这已经是第二个小孩死在了美国边境收容站，立法者呼吁提高收容站的医疗看护。’U.S. Lawmakers are calling for better medical care for migrant kids in U.S. Custody.‘。这个小孩才8岁，和他爸一起非法入境后被扣留在收容站。不过通常情况下，三天内应该他们就要被放起，但他们被扣了快一周左右，’that’s one of the big unanswered questions….he was shuffled through multiple facilities in quick succession.’ succession表示一系列，接连。
当局表示现在CBP已经在他们能够处理的极限了，因为在这些建筑设施是很早以前建立的，并没有考虑到现在这么大的人流量。’ But they have said that CBP facilities in the region are at or near capacity.‘ capacity是能力的意思，facing a crisis 面临着危机。

街头采访路人，路人才25岁，说对这个国家的未来不抱希望。You talked to a 25-year-old man who says he has no faith in the future of his country.
游行的人在那’demand the fall of the regime‘，就像以前的阿拉伯之春。regime是指政权，管理等。不过不知道这次的游行是否会对统治者造成威胁，或是可能最后被镇压下来。’just another crackdown in a country with a strong leader who’s determined to hang on to power?’ crackdown就是镇压的意思，hang on power表示当权者坚持手中的权力。
不过苏旦已经发生了两次抗议者将政府给拉下来，现在已经有军队被派出来试图阻止那些抗议者 ‘tamp those protests down’. 有些军士已经倾向抗议者了(sided with them)，不过明面上他们还是说支持统治者的。统治者发表了演讲，’he just blamed the protests on agents, mercenaries and infiltrators’ 他说抗议者是被人利用的，唯利是图，以及被敌人渗透了。
