ponder就是沉思，这个词还是学生时代记忆用的所谓联想法(一点都不推荐)，所谓胖的没办法，就思考吧。胖的要死，所以行动迟缓(ponderous)，出自某东方上的课。单词还是要认真一遍一遍记忆，最好了解英文释义，多看多用才是王道。

shovel 是铲子的意思，这里夸张表示铲起，大量送入(v.)
另外shovel这个词让豹豹想起了trowel，后者表示小铲子，瓦刀
George looked at the kitchen clock. It said five past ten.
乔治看了看时间，10.05，姥姥的药水要在11点吃。said这个词很地道，包括广告牌会出现的read等。另外大钟敲响会用chime,chime虽然也表示门铃响但前者用得更多。eg....as the town hall clock chimed three o'clock.
然后小乔治开始做药水了。好吧，如果说罗尔德大爷的书最不喜欢哪个部分，就是唱歌的部分，如同阿三哥们的电影里载歌载舞一样，这一部分包括品牌部分。(包括查理里，长颈鹿里都喜欢出现各种牌子的糖果，药丸，自造词。每次读到这一块都好心塞。)

自行体会一下。这只是一小段。
a jumping flea跳蚤，以前还学过sucking louse吸血虱，flea market就是传说中的跳蚤市场。
squiggle是指波浪曲线，squiggler在豹豹手头有的词库中查无此词，难为翻译了。
