雅思口语PART1-"TYPES/KINDS”"问题解答技巧

雅思口语考试第一部分还经常会出现“种类”(types/kinds)的问题，例如：

What kinds of music are popular in your country?

What types of birds are popular in your country?

大多数的考生回答如下：

There are many kinds of music which are pretty popular in China，like rock and roll，blues，jazz，hip hop and rap.

There are many types of birds which are popular in my country，like swallows，magpies，eagles and parrots.

从上面的回答我们可以发现，考生犯了两个典型错误。一是和考官重复使用相同的词汇(types/kinds)；二是单纯地罗列出事物的种类，而不加以解释。在回答此类问题时，考生需要掌握“种类”和“欢迎度”两类词汇。

Of course it goes without saying that there's a wide range of music in my country. However，I think the most widespread could perhaps be pop music，and the explanation for this could be that listening to pop music can make people happy，especially when they are down in the dumps(心情不好). As well as pop music，another form of prevalent music would be classical，and this might be because the message or emotion behind classical music is hard to put into words，and it gives you a feeling of serenity and tranquility. And obviously，there are things like blues，jazz，hip hop，rap，etc. However，these are not as popular as the first two that I just mentioned.

Of course，you know, there are quite an extensive diversity of birds in China. But I guess the most popular one would be the Queen Bird. This is probably because it stands for power and prosperity，and most importantly，it can bring good luck to people. Besides Queen Birds，the second welcomed birds are swallows，and this is due to the fact that they are beneficial birds and eat many insects. And naturally，there are parrots，magpies，eagles，etc.，but these are not as favored as the first two that I said.
