Dear Mr Ou, Amanda, Romantic, Adys, all,
Thank you for all the meetings, time and accommodations for Christophe and myself last week. I would summarize the week as a strong knowledge sharing on both productions and products, path to market is getting shorter.
Please find below a tentative summary, do not hesitate to come back on any point in there.
Productions
TDEH10SWT (head-end), TDEM10AG (active gateway) and TDER10AG (repeater) produced by Watran are working correctly
Productions documents and setup reviewed
SNR debug investigations
Firmware sharing for all HW implementations
First review of EMC and temperature tests (can Watran share reports?)
Warning on IC bought in China, no way to get it working, see ‘next steps’
Experiments
Setup in room
95Mb/s reached in meeting room between Watran TDEH10SWT óTD TDEH10SWT (as gateway)
Setup in factory
Setup is impressive for upstream test, data are going from slaves to controler
From 165 meters to:
440m (cam 06) without repeaters
1040m (cam 08) with repeaters at cam 05, 06 and 07
Main lessons learnt:
Noise at receiving device (repeater/head-end in upstream) must be avoided:
Dormitory power has noise above 10MHz, very limiting for head-end in our upstream environment
Factory power has noise even under 10MHz, limiting for CAM 06 (440m) and behind because of repetition, good for HE and camera 01 to 06.
AC/DC must be avoided near coupling
Drill noise is:
Very limiting when injected near head-end and power is coming from dormitory
Not impacting at all when injected near head-end but power is coming from factory
Noise recovery time can be reduced to less than 10 seconds
Network implementation (where to put repeaters and gateways) is to be managed for proper adaptation to environment
Next steps (timeframes will follow shortly)
HW
UPA
Design for 3 phases coupling (Priority 1, PH1) => main project and quickest time to market
Design for 4 ampli gateway (Priority 2, PH2)
Investigate Chinese 950x (Low)
G.Hn
Reference design investigation (PH3)
CAD A of G.Hn gateway (PH4)
SW
Production software for Firefox on TDEH10SWT
Network management software, relevant onsite for automated configurations on both UPA and G.Hn
System/Solutions
UPA MV deployment application notes
Looking at DMX 512 potential implementations (General)
UPA hardware could be integrated to the devices it interacts, camera or street lamp or etc to ease deployment
Let us follow on the next steps in the coming week, do not hesitate if I forgot something.
Best regards,
Olivier
