Job Duties:

 

The main roles and responsibilities of the server and storage administrator are summarized as follow:

•    Perform the Windows and Unix Patch management to all GBM Servers

•    Perform the OS provisioning and OS hardening rely on the HSBC standard stack technology

•    Prepare the Server and Storage Reporting to show the system and team efficiency.

•    Standardize and Evergreen the Production and Development Unix and Linux  system infrastructure

•    Manage the data backup and restoration and perform the restore test periodically.

•    Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk

•    Perform Server and storage monitoring and routine checking.

•    Provide the Basic SAN storage administration

•    Arrange and manage the NAS quota management to business

 

 

Candidate Specifications:

 

The preferred candidate should come with the following competences:

 

•    2 years of experiences in UNIX and LINUX server operation and  infrastructure

•    Bachelor degree of Computer Science/Information Systems or same education level with relevant principle

 

•    Hand on  knowledge in SAN, NAS, Solaris, Red Hat and Suse

•    Knowledge on  Mosfet, SCCM, HPSA and VCS is an advantage

•    Professional qualification on IT technology would be a surplus.

•    Good problem-solving, interpersonal, and presentation skills

•    Good communication (oral and written English) skills are a must, and be able to negotiate, provide consultation, and handle conflicts with confidence.

•    Able to support different people in Asia Pacific countries and work closely with counterparts in London, New York and Paris colleague and be a global team player.

•    Willing to work in exception hours for project implementation when needed, and also roster for Asia Pacific support at night/weekends.
