HP splits in two in breaking off PC arm:Another week, another break-up. Hewlett-Packard, the technology conglomerate, is splitting into two companies. One will be devoted to HP’s storage, big data and software, the other to its consumer PCs and printers. The separation is to be completed by the end of 2015.The new enterprise company, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, will be structured to have significant net cash so it can conduct deals in the fast-growing industries in which it will operate.The PCs and printers, which will be called HP Inc., will focus on more organic investment.(ref:the inevitable HP break-up October 06, 2014)
