A: Good morning. I’m Jessica. You must be Frank.
B: Good morning. Nice to meet you.
A: Nice to meet you, too. Now let’s get started. Could you first give me a brief introduction about yourself?
B: ok. I graduated from Technical University in 2003 and my major was computer science. I joined a local IT company after that. My first position was programmer in a domestic insurance project. I spent about two years on that project and learnt a lot of technologies, like ANSI C, database and UNIX. And Later on I worked on a local telecom project and I became senior programmer. I still used the same technologies as before, but besides writing the source code I also did some design work. The second project took another two years when I felt I needed to learn some other technologies, because I didn’t want to be limited to a certain area. That’s why I applied for my third project using SAP ABAP in 2007. Luckily, I was accepted by the project manager, but it was a short term one. After the project, I realized I needed to find a new position to continue my learning on SAP ABAP.
A: I see. Can you tell me what kind of database and UNIX did you use respectively?
B: Oracle and Solaris.
A: Ok. Did you use any foreign languages in these projects?
B: I used English in my third project. Since SAP was a new technology and there were not many books written in Chinese, I had to read some training materials in English to get necessary knowledge.
A: Hi, Frank, in this section of the interview I’m going to ask you more questions. Are you ready?
B: Yes.
A: Ok. First of all, how do you rate yourself as a professional?
B: With my educational background and experience, I am capable and component, and I think I’m quite competitive.
A: What’s your strongest traits?
B: Firstly, I would say adaptability, I learn fast and I’m
good at adapting myself to new working and living environment, especially to the people there, and I think this may attribute to my second strength----sense of humor.
A: That’s good to know. Do you work well under pressure?
B: Yes. I think so. In fact, to me pressure is more like a challenge which pushes me to fulfill a job successfully on time.
A: Why are you interested in our company? What do you know about us?
B: I have heard of your solid reputation, your care for your employees and your outstanding services toward your customers. After searching information about your company, I think it will be great to be a part of such a dynamic company.
A: What do you think of your previous boss and colleagues?
B: I respect my supervisor and admire his ability to handle his staff. Most of my colleagues are ambitious, creative and responsible. As a team player, I get along very well with them.
A: Good. That’s all I want to ask and you may get our call in one or two weeks.
B: Thank you. I’ll look forward to your call.
