Toastmaster--Icebreaker--Best speaker

Dear toastmaster. President and distinguished guest.

I feel very happy to delivery my first speech in the toastmaster.I would like to talk about mself, my work and my view of point about the life. My English name is Henry and I feel very lucky to join the club.When I arrived here three week ago I fell in love with it It is so exciting and beautiful here.everyone is kind to me especially paul and current president.The club is just like a big family to me.

I am henrybai.I was married in 2006 and I have a two years ‘s old child now.I came to Beijing in 2006 as soon as I graduated from university. I graduated from teacher university. I never become a full time teacher. But I was a part time teacher. My major is computer and my research direction is database.When I had a free time I found a part time job to teach people who want to learn oracle. At first I taught in only one private school then I taught in many private schools. At that time the database lesson become more and more popular. The more lesson I taught ,the more famous I became. So that some enterprise company even the government department also invite me to give the lesson even the foreigner from Russia. I enjoyed my student life very much. This is my part time job experience .

And then I will say something about my current job .My current work is database administrator. managing the oracle database running normally. This kind of job is rather different from developing software. Developing software is creative and imaginative but sometimes it is challengeable. But maintaining work is totally different. It is a kind of service. The main character of the service is it can not be stored somewhere. When the database happen issue I have to provide the service immediately. So my job is 24 by 7.It mean 24 hours a day and 7days a week.But this doesnot mean I have to work from morning till night.I only need to work when database happen issue. Luckly enough in the most time the database is running normally. So I still have enough time to think.To think about the life. to think the meaning of the life. To think about the purpose of the life.

Then In the following time I would like to share my point of view about the life. In the past I think the money is the first priority in everyone’s life. We should not only chase the money especially for the ambitious young men. Almost every one in the society think the How much money is the only standard to measure if a men is successful or not.So when I was looking for the job The salary is the first thing I considered no matter how far the work location is and how hard the work is to do. But I totally change my point of view now. I believe more is not always better escepically for the money. For I find some people have more money than other but they are not happy. On the other hand some people as poor as church mice but they are happy. In a way these poor people are as rich as king. So I am always remember the word more is not always better.

This is my point of view about the life in general level ,and I know I can not give you all the details about myself in such short time.I hope I will get the chance to give my second speeches soon in order to let you know me more. I hope I can become your friend soon.
