Programme Description
The Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) program at the University of Florida prepares students to thrive in the age of big data. Course Description
In the Warrington College of Business, graduate courses are organized in a modular system. The modular system allows students to focus intensely on course content over a six-week period with a week break in between. The four modules are conducted over a nine-month period, beginning in fall or the spring semester.

Independent Study (QMB 6905)

An independent study involved doing a project, such as a system design, website implementation or data analysis, for an agency at UF or outside UF. For these projects, the student should develop the proposal in cooperation with the person who will actually be supervising the work. The work supervisor will have to sign off on the project before the independent study starts, and eventually report on the student’s performance. The instructor will then assign the grade for the course after he/she receives the report from the work supervisor. Email your advisor to obtain the independent study application which should be submitted prior to registering for the independent study.

The traditional option requires students be on campus, increasing opportunities to work as teams and network with peers. Students can complete the program in one and a half or two years, based upon academic background.

Traditional Master
There are no prerequisites to the program. However, students without an undergraduate business major or minor will need to take a set of core business courses that add an additional semester of study to the program for a full two years.

All applicants must have a previous bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent as determined by the UF Office of Admission’s evaluation of official transcripts.

For any academic class activity, students must follow the University of Florida Student Honor Code. Any violation of the honor code will automatically result in a grade of E (Fail) for this course and further sanctions that may include a suspension or expulsion from the University through the Dean of Students Office. All incidents will be reported to Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution at the University of Florida.

The ISOM Department requires that applicants complete the quantitative and verbal sections of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

The total minimum estimated cost of one year’s study at the University of Florida is $50,010 for graduate and $48,540 for undergraduate students.
