Carry Mother on My Back (and other two poems)

On the trip to the Three Gorges, when getting off the ship at the dock
Mother moved so slowly
That she might block the way of other persons gushing out behind
I jumped off the bow
Squatted down
And carried her on my back
I did not know whether someone
Had noticed in the Wushan Mountain in the rain
The sudden appearance of this scene
What was certain were the sights
From my wife and my child
Their surprises followed me
Mother on my back
Along the stone steps like a ladder
I ascended the stairs
As if running down a slop
In the old days, Mother
Used to work on the farmland
With me, a baby, on her back
I was too young then
The difference was that I would cry
While Mother said nothing
Leaning over my back quietly
As if thinking something
At that moment, I really wanted to cry

Mountain Breeze

The Mountain breeze coils its hair high
Wears a red ground length linen skirt that does not at the bosom and waist tie
From east to west, across mountains, forests and rivers
When it sings a folk song loudly
Flocks of cattle and sheep will run out from its mouth

Moo moo -- baa baa --
Wonderful sounds lingering from valley bottoms to mountain pinnacles
On slopes the breeze nibbles grass, on cliffs it picks clouds
Morning mist comes out of one flower
Evening twilight goes into another

Slopes and ridges
Furrows and valleys, all decorated by Azalea
Sneaking barefoot down
From the sky

The Dongshan Mountain, Stones Cracked

Towering between the heaven and the earth
The mountains of stones seldom have human being visitors
Standing, squatting or sleeping
All big stones, faces covered and mouths closed
Filled with the everlasting desolation

People say you are stubborn and inhuman
Basking under the blue sky and white clouds
Giving dead ears to the wind, the frost, the rain and the snow
But in the face of time
How long can you be silent
Which tears you apart, into pieces
Until everything you hold on to collapses

Harder than stones, time is
Harder than time, life is
Look! From the wounds of the cracked stones
Grow out Serissa serissoides, which are now in buds
