Mom Knows Best---英诗汉译

女儿的课堂作业。^_^

When I was a tiny baby crying all night，

时吾尚幼啼整夜，

My mom sang to me and stayed by my side.

家母歌吾不曾离。

When I was tired and hungry，

时吾尚幼饥且疲，

She gave me food and warm arms to sleep in.

家母食吾伴吾眠。

When I was two running through the field，

时吾两岁奔于野，

She made sure I was safe and kept me from danger.

家母安吾远艰险。

When I fell and hurt myself，

时吾扑地伤吾身，

She gave me a hug and lifted me up.

家母拥吾扶吾起。

When I was seven coughing badly，

时吾七岁咳厉急，

She said no ice-cream for me.

家母令吾禁冰饮。

But I talked back loudly，

然吾回驳声气高，

“I should be allowed to eat some！Give it to me now！”

“吾须食之不容迟！”

When I was nine watching scary movies，

时吾九岁欲观悚，

She said it’d give me awful dreams.

家母言其致梦魇。

But I shouted back angrily，

然吾回驳怒满溢，

“I should be allowed to watch it！ I’m not a baby！”

“吾可观之吾非幼！”

When I was a teen going out with friends，

时吾垂髫随友去，

She said，“Please be back by ten！”

家母劝吾亥时归。

But I talked back again---

然吾回驳复回驳---

“I should not be told what to do！I’m seventeen now！”

“吾拒操控吾十七！”

Now I’m an adult，thinking back to the times，

现吾成人忆旧时，

I coughed for days after eating that ice-cream.

吾食冰后咳数日，

And had scary dreams after watching that film.

观影惊悚遇梦魇。

I was late for school from staying out past ten.

晚归令吾进学迟，

I regret talking back，not listening to Mom.

悔吾未聆母心声，

Mom knows best，and for me she wanted only the best！

家母知多予吾多！
