Our one-year traditional MPA is open to students who hold a bachelor’s degree in almost any discipline from any academic institution. No work experience is required to apply.

Academic Requirements
General requirements for admission to the Graduate School are:

1.A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) will determine eligibility for admission in consultation with prospective graduate programs. 本科学位
2.A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.

3.An official score for the Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE), unless otherwise specified by the graduate program to which the student is applying. The McCombs School of Business requires master’s and doctoral degree applicants to submit a satisfactory score for either the GRE or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Inteernational students whose native language is not English must also submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE MPA DEGREE PROGRAM VIA THE TRADITIONAL APPROACH? 传统模式的MPA需要多长时间？
The MPA Program ranges from 31 to 43 required semester credit hours, depending on the student's undergraduate coursework. Students with an undergraduate accounting degree often complete a 31-hour program. Students with an undergraduate degree in an area outside of accounting or business typically complete a 43-hour program. A 31-hour program can be completed in one year (in fall and spring OR fall, spring, and summer). A 42-hour program can be completed in just over one year (in summer, fall, spring, and summer).

The MPA Program admits for the fall semester only. However, students who have not completed the equivalent to Financial Accounting (ACC 381) must begin in the summer.

CPA exam eligibility requirements vary widely from state to state. Your educational background and the state in which you plan to sit for the exam will determine whether or not you will need to complete coursework above and beyond your MPA degree requirements in order to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
