Today is Monday.

The three mice went through the rooms. Despereaux wanted to loose the tight red thread round his neck, but he was stopped by the hoods. Despereaux asked the hoods if he could say the last words to Princess. One of the hoods said,"Cripes! You can't learn, can you?" His voice was familiar to Despereaux. He knew that was his brother, Furlough. Despereaux felt something of hope in his mind. He hold one paw of his brothers and said, "Furlough, it's you. Let me go. We are brothers. We are a family." Furlough threw Despereaux's paws away and said,"Rules are rules." He pushed Despereaux into darkness. There were only two words in Despereaux's mind, perfidy and pea. He couldn't see anything in the darkness. He shivered, shook, sneezed and felt freezingly cold. He wanted to hold something in his hand and the only one he could hold was his tail. The smell of dungeon almost made him faint again.
