Not long ago a friend and I talked about whether a knowledgeable person can be called great. This article would like to analyze whether a knowledgeable person can be called successful.

Sometimes when we were still young, there were always one or even more than one boys in the classroom are so clever that we wonder if the whole world is in his brain. He liked to show off his knowledge and we admire him.

Firstly, it cannot be denied that the knowledge he got is not valueless. It helped him a lot to get the basic idea of what the world is like, to judge what is right and wrong, and also to apply the knowledge and change them into skills, such as writing skills. Moreover, to become a knowledgeable person can gain plenty of vanity and feel good about oneself.

However, knowledge itself sometimes is too weak to support our further development as a normal person, especially liberal-art knowledge. This knowledge cannot support a person to find a job with satisfied salary. (What a pity)

Besides, as a normal person, when our knowledge capacity is far beyond our positions, problems would come next. For example, a man, A, is a ordinary employee in the company. He regards himself as a knowledgeable person and he enjoys criticize variable events happening around him, some are as big as national police, some are about company strategies. In result, none of his boss likes him. Because he is not in management position but interferes the decisions making.

Additionally, knowledge is not the same as fact. Once the theory enter into someone's memory, it has already lost its objectivity. If the knowledge cannot change into skills, or not affect the decision making, then the knowledge is useless.

In conclusion, knowledge is not a bad thing. It all depends on how to be used by people. Try to make the knowledge serve as a tool for further self development, but for the vanity.
