北洋造光绪元宝北洋龙洋在中国近代机器铸币史上属一个大系列，对于现今也蕴藏了一定历史意义。其铸期从光绪22年至光绪34年，历经十余载，币模几经更替，即使同一铸造年份亦往往由于修模、币材、工艺技术、工厂管理等诸多因素，造成版别异常繁杂。

清朝末年，朝野上下发生了银元单位之争，币制未统一。北洋机器局更名北洋造币局，铸行较早脱离“两单位”的银币后，又于光绪二十五年始，铸行面值库平纪重的“光绪元宝”，在这类币的背面左側阿拉伯数字表示该币为光绪X年版。北洋造光绪元宝库平七钱二分发行量少，市场稀缺，为稀有币种。至今，数量现已极点有限，致使其价值居高不下。
中国第一批引入海外技能锻造流转钱银，具有十分严峻的历史意义，正所谓藏头不藏尾，所以深受中国广阔保藏爱好者的喜欢。光绪元宝是我国首批引进海外技术的印发流通货币，由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机，机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。

此枚为云南省造光绪元宝库平七钱二分，直径3.9cm。正面铸有铭文，顶部铸楷体“云南省造”四字，底部铸货币价值“库平七钱二分”，中心直读“光绪元宝”四字，币中心为满文“光绪元宝”，外圈两侧各有一朵7个小圆圈组成的花纹装饰。藏品的背面内圈是神龙图腾，纹路如刀刻所成，铸造工艺神乎其技，且龙身纹路精美，龙身纤细，龙首威严霸气，极其瑰丽，美得动人心魄！神龙图腾纹饰自然纯正，光洁细润。外环珠圈，左右两侧依然各有一朵7个小圆圈组成的花纹装饰。钱币的版面设计优雅，而且存世量极为稀少，是收藏界精品，知名度极大的一种，具有无法估量的学术与历史价值。
