Two Books

These two books were assigned as the must read by Grace for the Personal Growth Training Camp. I had finished reading the Chinese version for Man’s Search For Meaning, which I found was pretty amazing. It was written by a psychiatrist who had experienced unimaginable sufferings in Nazi death camps. He applied his own logotherapy to help himself and others to survive both physically and spiritually. I couldn’t remember how many times my eyes got wet when I read it.

Eventually,  I decided to buy a hard copy to add to my bookshelf. I first bought a gift edition with very good looking light blue cover, but then I gave it to my young cousin who just started his college as a gift when he came to visit. It was not planned ahead of time. I just felt it would be good for him, especially he is also during the process to explore his own life. It turned out he was very likely to like the book. He told me that he found the book quite interesting just by reading the introduction.

So I bought myself another edition which is a less expensive one. I had no idea it was such a cute book. It was literally the size as my palm. This is the smallest book I’ve ever had, but it would be one of those with the most influence on me .

I haven’t started reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People yet. The book name itself was known for a long time, but I had a bias against it thinking it was just another chicken soup. I was probably wrong.
