In this part ,Amir had fall in love with Soraya, to avoid the gossip in the flea market,Amir has to escape dating with Soraya and he can only miss the hidden deepen in the heart.
Moreover , Baba had diagnosed with caner and refused to chemo,with the time gone by , the pounds of baba kept shedding, his cheeks hollowed and his eyes receded in their sockets.At last, Amir let baba ask General Taheri for his daughter's hand,then they got married. After one month ,Baba dead.

阿米尔为了认识索拉娅，每天装作不经意的样子在索拉娅的摊位前经过，日夜思念，饱受相思之苦，最后终于鼓起勇气向索拉娅搭讪，二人相识，又交谈甚欢，但无奈受到人们的闲言碎语的困扰，突出了阿富汗深入人心的保守思想。文中用大量篇幅描绘了从发现父亲咳血到去医院反复确诊的过程，长达4个星期，凸显阿米尔内心的焦灼不安，同时渴望得到索拉娅的陪伴，而父亲拒绝化疗，一方面可能觉得治标不治本的做法不可取，没有必要浪费钱财，另一方面父亲内心的自尊感让他无法接受化疗后的副作用，想体面的离去。这也与阿米尔软弱的性格形成反差，文中令人感到开心的是，父亲帮助阿米尔谈成了婚事，迎娶了索拉娅，而阿米尔内心对哈桑的歉疚却始终未能公诸于世，父亲临终也未能得知真相。
