America, the Story of a Dream /

Dreaming a big dream,

A plant of tree sprouted its seedling.

Towards the land of America,

The sails of ship were hoisted.

The sapling has grown a couple of leaves,

Supported by the big dream.

The British immigrants built their state,

Dreaming that they could embrace freedom.

The howling wind was shaking the sapling,

Coming was the storm.

Why boxes filled with tea-leaves were floating in piercing brine in Boston?

Why reports of shooters already stopped the symphony of peace in Lexington?

The sapling was still chest out firmly,

While the storms were extremely tough.

The war against Britain was bitter but no one wanted to give up,

With the support of the Declaration of Independence.

The storm seemed slowing down but still hard,

However, the sapling already had ability to fight with.

British army were defeated by American by and by,

For the power of the dream.

Wider and tougher the tree is than the past,

Which had suffered from the trial from the dream.

America developed rapidly with the spirit of freedom at that time,

It seemed that everyone had got freedom.

But now, standing under the tree,

Doubts are filled with my brain.

Why black people are still discriminated against which can undermines the dream of freedom?

Why the military bases are constructed everywhere like grown mushrooms to create tensions?

That not only affects the development of America,

But also destroys the freedom and peace of all mankind.

I deeply resent this behavior from the bottom of my heart,

Just like Bob Dylan said:”How many years can some people exist before they are allowed to be free”.

America, the story of a dream,

Tells us a simple but profound truth:

Only we have to fight for our own dreams, do not forget the beginning of the heart,

Can we will finally get our further after-time!
