SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

This page provides our recommended and supported environments for HP ALM, HP ALM Essentials and HP Quality Center Enterprise (Technology Preview) version 11.50. It also covers HP ALM and HP Quality Center Enterprise version 11.00 and HP Quality Center Premier and HP Quality Center Enterprise version 10.00. The environments list the minimum patch level required for support. NOTE: Quality Center 11.5 has been released in Technology Preview mode and is NOT GA. Server-Side System Requirements

Following are the server system configurations for installing HP ALM 11.50, HP ALM Essentials, and HP Quality Center Enterprise (Technology Preview) 11.50 on Windows, Linux, and Solaris. Please note that these requirements do not apply if you are utilizing Managed Software Solutions for HP ALM or HP Quality Center Enterprise. In that case, the Managed Software Solutions team provides a hosted version of HP ALM or HP Quality Center Enterprise, so the only requirements are the Client-Side System Requirements listed below.

Hardware Minimum Requirements

CPU Windows: Quad Core AMD64 processor or equivalent x86-compatible processor Linux: Quad Core AMD64 processor or equivalent x86-compatible processor Solaris: SPARC architecture required (x86 architecture is NOT supported) Memory (RAM) 8 GB minimum Free disk space 8 GB minimum

NOTE: It is strongly recommended that ALM be deployed only on 64 bit systems in Windows production environments

Application Servers

The Application server functionality is now built-in to the ALM/QC platform and there is no need to install a third party application server (WebLogic, WebSphere, and JBoss) from version 11.50 onwards. The HP ALM application server uses JDK6 (1.6) and supports 64 bit JVM.

Database Servers Requires HP Patch Oracle 10.2.0.5 Oracle 11.2.0.3   SQL 2005 SP4 SQL 2008 R2 SP1

NOTE: All database servers, unless otherwise stated, have been validated on 64 bit configurations.

Web Servers Requires HP Patch Apache 2.2   IIS7 IIS 7.5

NOTE: By default application servers include HTTP servers. If you need additional functionality a web server can be added.

Virtual Environments

VMWare ESX/ESXi Server 5.0 and higher. HP ALM/QC is certified to work with VMWare ESX/ESXi. Due to the rapidly evolving architectures provided by Virtualization vendors as long as the above stated vendor guarantees full compatibility of the virtualized environment to the HP ALM/QC approved system requirements for physical hardware, then HP ALM/QC will function as designed.

Client-Side System Requirements

This section describes the client system configurations for installing an HP ALM, HP ALM Essentials or HP Quality Center Enterprise (Technology Preview) client for version 11.50.
