absolutely serious; not joking

注：这里better用作及物动词

Grammar

the usage of “also, too, so, and as well”

1. 副词 also 表示 “也，而且，并且” 的意思，用于肯定句或疑问句中， 但一般位于句中，通常位于 be/助动词/情态动词之后，实义动词之前。例如：He has been to Beijing. I have also been there.
2. 副词 too 表示 “也”，常用于肯定句或疑问句中，可与 also 相互置换，但 too 一般放于句末。例如：He likes China, too.
3. 副词 so 作 “也” 解释时，用于肯定句加倒装结构 “so + 助词/be/情态动词 + 主语”中，表示倒装结构中的主语 “也一样”。例如：I am 15 years old. So is he. (= He is 15 years old, too.) 如果前一句是否定句，则该倒装结构中用 neither。例如：— I don’t like carrots. — Neither do I.
4. 副词短语 as well 表示 “也” 的意思，经常与 too 交替使用，且位于句尾。例如：You can do it; I can do it as well.

• He studies hard and I study hard, too.
• She likes reading science fiction novels. So do I.
• Filter coffee is better for your health than instant coffee, and it tastes nicer as well.
