Yesterday afternoon Frank Hawkins was telling me about his experiences as a young
man. Frank used to work fourteen hours for repairing bicycles a day in a small shop
when he was a boy. He saved money for years and in 1958 he ran a small workshop
for making aircraft parts. The small workshop which at first employed only two people
now recruits seven hundred and twenty-eight people. Frank smiled and reminisced
about his hard early years until his wife asked him to repair their grandson's bicycle.
