绘本讲师训练营【15期】3/21--阅读原创《Pete the Cat-Pete at the beach》

                  Today, I choose "Pete at the beach", another one of "Pete the cat" series. Every one may meet difficulties. How could we overcome our fear? This story gives us an example.

      Pete goes to the beach with his mom and his brother Bob. Pete dears not to go into the water at first. When his brother and mom encourage him, he said "Maybe later". The waves make him a little bit scary.

    Pete feels so hot when playing at the beach, so mom advices " let's get our feet wet."  Then Pete tries. The water is cool. It makes Pete feel good, and it's safe, too. Then when he sees Bob serfing and riding  waves,  he is attracted by serfing. So when Bob offers to show Pete how to serf, Pete says "Let's do it", instead of "Maybe later". And finally, Pete serfs well and he has a lot of fun in it.

      After sharing the story,  I have a conversation with my son. I told him that it's ok to be afraid. But if we have a try,  maybe we'll find something with sun. I told him that he was afraid of stepping into sand when he was a little baby. The sand made his feet dirty.  Then we led him to play with sand first, drawing with a stick on the beach, holding sand with his hand and making the sand flowing through his fingers, he had a lot of fun. From then on, he likes to play at the beach, and even bury himself with sand.

      Have a try, then you'll get what you want.
