诗经.秦风.蒹葭

蒹葭苍苍，白露为霜。

The reeds growing lushly,the white dew has turned to frost.

所谓伊人，在水一方。

The one in my heart is on the other side of the river.

溯洄从之，道阻且长；

Following the  long and bumpy road upstream I keep searching.

溯游从之，宛在水中央。

When going downstream,I find she seems to be in the middle of the water.

蒹葭萋萋，白露未晞。

The reeds growing luxuriantly ,the white dew hasn’t dried .

所谓伊人，在水之湄。

The one I adore is on the river bank.

溯洄从之，道阻且跻；

Following the bumpy and steep path upstream I keep on looking ;

溯游从之，宛在水中坻。

When going downstream, I find she seems to be on the islet.

蒹葭采采，白露未已。

The reeds growing thickly ,the white dew is not yet dry

所谓伊人，在水之涘。

My beloved girl lives by the riverside.

溯洄从之，道阻且右；

Following the zigzag track upstream I go on pursuing;

溯游从之，宛在水中沚。

When going downstream I find she appears to be on the small island.

【注释】

1. 蒹葭苍苍：蒹（jiān），没长穗的芦苇。葭（jiā），初生的芦苇。苍苍：茂盛的样子。

2. 为：凝结成。

3. 所谓：所说的，此指所怀念的。伊人：那个人，指所思慕的对象。

4. 一方：那一边。

5. 溯洄从之：溯（sù）洄，逆着河流往上游走。 从，追寻。

6. 阻：险阻，（道路）难走。

7. 溯游：顺着河流往下游走。

8. 宛在水中央：好像在水之中央。宛，宛然，好像。

9. 萋萋：（草木）茂盛的样子。

10. 晞（xī）：干，晒干。

11. 湄（méi）：岸边水草相接处。

12. 跻（jī）：上升，高起，指道路越走越高。

13. 坻（chí）：水中小块陆地。

14. 采采：繁盛的样子。

15. 已：止。

16. 涘（sì）：水边，岸边。

17. 右：迂回曲折。

18. 沚（zhǐ）：水中小块陆地。

河边芦苇茂且长，清晨露水结成霜。

顺流而下去追寻，仿佛就在水中央。

河边芦苇密又繁，清晨露水未曾干。

意中之人在何处？就在河岸那一边。

逆着流水去寻找，道路险阻攀登难。

顺着流水去追寻，仿佛就在水中滩。

河边芦苇密稠稠，清晨露水未全收。

意中之人在何处？就在水边那一头。

逆着河水去寻找，道路崎岖曲难求。

顺着河水去追寻，仿佛就在水中洲。
