Today is Wednesday.

Pippi shrieked after the girl to wait for a minute and asked her if her papa was bald-headed. The girl answered crossly that he certainly was not and hurried away. Pippi shouted after her if he had big ears that reached way down to his shoulders. The girl turned and came running back in amazement and asked Pippi if she really had seen a man had walked by with such big ears. Pippi answered that she had never seen anyone who had walked with his ears and all the people she knew walked with their feet. The girl told Pippi angrily that she had asked Pippi if she really had seen a man who had had such big ears. Pippi told her there wasn't anybody with such big ears, and it was ridiculous, and it was impossible to have such big ears, at least in that country, and in China it was a little different because she had seen a Chinese in Shanghai, whose ears were so big that he could use them for a cape, and when it rained he just crawled in under his ears and was as warm and snug as he please, and of course his ears didn't have it so good that if it was very bad weather he used to invite his friends to camp under his ears, and there they sat and sang sad songs while the rain poured down, and they liked him a lot because of his ears.
