A: We've been successful beyond your wildest dreams with this joint venture company. Our investment firm was able to get listed on the ShangHai stock exchange right at the beginning of a massive bull market.
B: I'm not going to lie. I thought the whole thing was a stock bubble when we first started. I was so nervous that I couldn't sleep at night. But you played the market like an expert
A: It was a good thing we were able to cash our stocks out before the market crashed. Luckily, we both made money on this deal. Should we talk about future investments, or how to divide up our earnings?Maybe we should invest in commodities like gold, or real estate.
B: Are you sure about gold and real estate? I've heard those were bubbles too.
A: Let's talk about future investments later. First, we ought yo divide the earnings. According to the contract we signed, if the return on investment (ROI) was over 25%, your share of the profits would go up 10 percent.
B: We did. Also, we agreed to split the stock dividends into 50-50 if there are any.
A: True, but most of the business we did on the Shanghai Stock Exchange was just short term investments. Since we were buying and selling quickly, none of our stocks actually gave out dividends.
B: Well, send me the paperwork. I need to file my capital gains taxes.
A: so altogether, my share of the profits is 30%.
