Bitpie Wallet, an Australia-based blockchain startup, made its debut in Tokyo on September 8th, 2018, marking its entering into the Japanese wallet market.
The launch event was aimed at promoting the Bitpie brand and its products-Bitpie-a decentralized hot wallet and BITHD, a hardware cold wallet.
Founded in 2013, Bitpie Wallet is made up of blockchain professionals and business experts from IT and Financial industries around the world.
Hao Wen, the CEO of Bitpie Wallet introduced on the meetup that Bitpie is originated from Bither team, who made the bitcoin wallet — Bither, which is listed among the wallets recommended by bitcoin.org and has a huge following in Chinese market. Moreover, Bither wallet is also the world’s first wallet adopting the cold/hot model. Up to date, Bither wallet has stored hundreds of thousands of bitcoins for over 1 million users with zero safety accident.
“Bitpie wallet was launched in 2016 as a new generation of blockchain asset management platform,” said Hao Wen, “it is featured by a more user-friendly operation interface and supports around thirty multi-chain assets, including BCH, BTC, ETH, USDT, EOS, etc. With our top-notch technology and safe operation history, Bitpie has maintained a good reputation among users. Now Bitpie is ready to expand its market share in the international stage.”
According to Hao Wen, Bitpie Japan was established to explore the Japanese market, and its interest in the Japanese market is largely owing to Japan’s world leading legal institution and vitality in cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. Cryptocurrency payment is permitted by Japanese government, and people in Japan will have much more use cases with cryptocurrency wallet. Under this circumstance, Bitpie wallet introduced the “Pie Open Platform”. Hao Wen said,” Bitpie wallet is devoted to be a decentralized PayPal in the blockchain world; we are hoping that with Bitpie wallet, users are able to easily accomplish payments without a trusted third party; offline merchants and Dapps can provide buying and selling service by integrating to “Pie Open Platform””.
Along with Bitpie wallet, Bitpie’s eco-partners and other 10 native KOLs on twitter were also invited by Bitpie to present a face-to-face communication with the common users and investors, the line-up of guests includes Bytom Blockchain and EOS Add, Arata, Ameyumi, KIM, Fukurou, Kazuto, Okadasaki, Kamiyatomoai, Bitdays Chief Editor Mitsuyakouhei, etc. Ameyumi said his mainly invested cryptocurrency is Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and though he is using another wallet, he would consider to turn to the Bitpie wallet for its simplicity and easy-to-use characteristic.
Bitdays’s Mitsuyakouhei expressed that Bitpie wallet is a reliable wallet as it has a cutting-edge security strategy and technology. When it comes to security, Bitpie CTO Chenwen Song stated that Bitpie wallet strictly abides by the BIP44 protocol and is based on CS network architecture, making it possible that the nodes synchronizations are assigned to the servers. To ensure the safety of users’ private keys, Bitpie local clients save private keys, the sandbox-based mobile devices are more secure. When a mobile client is constructing a transaction, it will not entirely trust the server side; instead, it will perform multiple verifications upon the information provided by the server side.
The hardware of cold wallet BITHD is another major product developed by Bitpie team. It is an absolute off-network device and based on the Trezor open source structure. Song stressed that BITHD’s development takes both security and simplicity into consideration. In order to ensure a safe and efficient Bluetooth transmission between the BITHD and Client, a unique communication protocol is adopted, and the PIN code input keyboard display is disordered and specifically designed self-protect mechanism makes it possible to recover the assets even when the device is missing.
The representative of Bitpie Japan, Jessy Zhang, played an introduction video about the multiple-signature function of BITHD, elaborating that this is the world-first hardware wallet that supports multi-signature function. “We have already provided our users with an integrated solution from software to hardware, from hot wallet to cold wallet and from average users to startups,” Jessy said.
In terms of the promotion in Japanese market, Jessy said Bitpie wallet will attract more users through referral invitation mechanism and giveaway airdrops. In addition to the foundational functions of storing, sending and receiving cryptocurrencies, Bitpie will integrate more Dapps to build up a more diversified application scenario. In the future, Bitpie will offer more value-added functions to Japanese users.
