The Windows install continues. It sees the HD, formats it, then copies files from the CD to the virtual HD. When the Windows install wants to copy the SCSI drivers, it?s looking for files that are not on the floppy disk (vmscsi.sys, vmscsi.inf, vmscsi.cat). The install stops there. If I choose to skip the files, the rest of the install finishes but it blue-screens when Windows tries to run the GUI portion of the setup after the re-boot. Which is expected because I chose to skip the files.

doesn't seem like a vmware problem. seems like your XP PRO has the OEMPREINSTALL set to YES. is this a custom XP install disk? check the WINNT.sif file in the i386 folder. Make sure the OEMPREINSTALL=no. I have built custom install before and if the OEMPREINSTALL is set to yes it will not copy new drivers into the INSTALL directory.
