TERRIBLE
Do not buy from Travelzoo because there is absolutely NO customer protection whatsoever. This is a company that would not stand behind the product they sell. Bought Digitaldoorstep movie tickets from Travelzoo. Tried to redeem tickets days before expiration but was directed by Digitaldoorstep website to provide mailing address so PIN number can be sent. How absurd is that; a company with “digital” in its name needs to snail mail me the PIN number! I never received my PIN. Tried working with Digitaldoorstep to no avail (another reviewer said it went bankrupted). Finally tried to get refund from Tavelzoo where I bought the deal and was offered future discount but no full refund. Their...
Don't Believe What They Tell You, They Don't Mean What They Say
Last night I tried to use a voucher from TravelZoo for cocktails an appetizers at a bar in DC. The bartender was extremely rude and refused to honor the coupons because we didn't have an "appointment" (his word). This despite the fact that the voucher said "reservations recommended," not "reservations required."
I called TravelZoo this morning and was told that when they say "reservations recommended" they really mean "reservations required". "Reservations optional" really means "reservations recommended." After arguing with the TravelZoo representative for several minutes about the distinction between "recommended" and "required" I gave up and suggested that perhaps they should buy a dictionary
Travelzoo is a Scam and should be closed by the ACCC
Don't buy anything from them! We bought some vouchers for an event that got cancelled and when we asked for a refund they didn't provide it (unbelieveable) We had to submit a chargeback which we won. Couple of weeks after they charged our credit card again for the same amount (an unauthorized transaction! -so also they store your credit card details so if they get hacked you'll be even more sorry!-) so we had to submit another chargeback and ask our bank to provide a new card!
