Traditional courses and MOOC discussion

Massive openonline courses, better known by the acronym MOOCs, have aroused extensivediscussion that whether traditional courses will be replaced or not.

MOOCs are free and accessible to anyoneover the internet. They are typically offered by a college or university inconjunction with an online learning platform like Coursera or edX and almostcover all kinds of traditional university courses. Most courses are presentedin the form of short videos, making it convenient for learners to make the fulluse of fragmented time which means one can study at any time at any place. Anyonewho are interested in a lifelong learning while lacking the opportunity or timecan find his way, shown by MOOCs, towards any course that interests him.

In comparison with MOOCs learners, traditional courses are only accessible to few students who are qualifiedenough to be adopted by the university. Students have the opportunity to askfor answers to the questions that puzzled him a lot and get direct responsefrom the professor which are impossible in the case of MOOCs. After classes, students can cooperate with each other for a given task which is alsoinconceivable for MOOCs learners.       Theinconvenient part of traditional courses is that students abound to gather in acertain place at certain time. The only way to get the missing point ischecking your classmates' notebook,    whileyou can repeat video if you are having MOOCs.

Despite the great convenience of MOOCs,traditional courses won't be replaced because exchanging face to face is themost efficient way of passing down knowledge, especially the case that somefeeling can't be described in words. In my opinion, MOOCs can be a powerfultool for the supplement of traditional courses but will never ever be the onlyone.
