Principal Solutions Engineer

Primary responsibilities

• Drive overall winning strategy in the Application space
• Develop functional requirements for Application solutions
  • Major success drivers
  • Baseline of customer requirements
  • Competitive differentiators
• Lead Solution design team with Solution Engineering, technical architects and product experts
• Develop technical GTM plan for the Application Solution, including:
  • Demo and POC requirements
  • Training requirements
  • Support requirements
• Provide technical solution content to Solutions Marketing to enable them to deliver field collateral and training
• Provide technical solution content to Demo developers
• Participate in initial solution deployments at small number of lead customers
• Support EBC briefings on the Application subject
• Support small number of selected strategic deals including Application Solution

Person in this position is expected to spend ~40% of his/her time with customers and field people, 40% with engineering and internal teams, and 20% maintaining technical currency on the Application and EMC product sets

This position requires strong hands-on Application deployment skills, strong customer-facing presentation skills, good knowledge of EMC technologies applicable to the Application, ability to communicate with sales and with internal technical communities at their levels.
