Teacher: Which country is the biggest in the world?
Student: Russia.
Teacher: Which country has the most people in the world?
Student: China.
Teacher: Who is the smartest teacher in the school?
Student: But...you are the only teacher in the school.
Teacher: I know.

老师：世界上哪个国家最大?
学生：俄罗斯。
老师：世界上哪个国家有最多的人?
学生：中国。
老师：本校中哪一位老师最聪明?
学生：但是……你是本校唯一的老师啊。
老师：我知道。

1. Russia ['rʌʃə] n.俄罗斯
2. Which country has the most people in the world?
   (世界上哪个国家有最多的人?)
   比较：
   She is the most beautiful girl in her class.
   (她是她班上最美的女孩子。)
   在第二句中，most是副词，译成"最"，修饰后面的形容词beautiful。而在第一句中，most是形容词，译成“最多的”，修饰后面的名词people。
   由上得知，第一句中的most乃形容词many的最高级，后面接复数名词，变化如下：
   原级 比较级 最高级
   many more most
   例：He has many friends.
   (他朋友很多。)
   I have more friends.
   (我朋友比较多。)
   She has the most friends.
   (她朋友最多。)
   most亦可作形容词much的最高级，后面接不可数名词，变化如下：
   原级 比较级 最高级
   much more most
   much多用于否定句中，肯定句中则使用a lot of取代much。
   例: He has much money. ( 劣 )
   →He doesn't have much money. ( O )
   (他钱不多。)
   He has a lot of money. ( O )
   (他钱很多。)
   I have more money.
   (我的钱比较多。)
   She has the most money.
   (她的钱最多。)

   例: My wife is very smart. She married me, didn't she?
   (我太太很聪明,她嫁给我了,不是吗?)
