联想到万维钢老师的新书《高手:精英的见识和我们的时代》里,曾提到的一个公式:

喜欢 = 熟悉 + 意外

身处这个时代的我们,对于汽车这个代步工具已然是再熟悉不过的了,而 Elon Musk 在这里所做的则是对传统汽车和混合动力汽车进行大改良,聚焦在电动汽车这个“清洁能源”的新概念上,同时尽善尽美的追求 Tesla 汽车由内而外的每一个工业设计细节,比如驾驶操作控制触摸屏,铝制车身,门把手,鹰翼门设计等等,专注于将用户的驾驶体验提升到极致。

这种完全置身于用户的角度,在再熟悉不过的产品上赋予极致的意外之喜,无怪乎用户随之而来的对 Tesla 电动汽车的喜欢与追捧。

套句《何以笙箫默》里的话,

如果世界上曾经有那辆车出现过,其他车都会变成将就,我不愿意将就。

兵来将挡,水来土掩,遇到的问题总会被解决。每当Elon刚步入事业辉煌时刻或者劫后逢生总会有新的问题困难出现,Elon 不是思前恐后,而是针对要害,尽己所能重点解决,也并没有去衡量自己的付出是否一定会度过难关,是否功亏一篑等诸多杂念。而或许恰是这份纯粹的的付出和拼搏,每次都化险为夷度过难关。会有人担心“全心去做某事要是万一失败了岂不是一无所获”,而当你有此权衡时某种程度早已分心,再则真的全心投入做到极致最终还没成功,这可能要归咎点一点运气吧,而这几率也是少之又少吧。事实是,我们所付出的程度还没达到谈及运气的层级,自己却各种实力甩锅。

这种设计美学之下,是Elon一直以来的坚持。书里这段话就是这么解释:

He’s a physicist at heart and an engineer by demeanor.

物理学家的心 + 工程师的行为 = 美学家的设计??

The truth is that there might be some of that going on with Musk, and he’s turned it into an advantage.

将自己的所学融会贯通,就像是打通任督二脉的武林高手,只有出化境的美学。

在看Elon的创业理念时,真的很难不去想到Jobs。在上述的这一点上同APPLE也是相似的。正如作者在文中写到,他所销售的是可供选择的软件服务。基于自己的所需而消费,没有无谓的广告和电话骚扰。而当你买了这样的一个产品之后,真的就不消费软件了么?

有一句话说:“冠军永远跑在掌声之前。” 乔布斯也好,Elon Musk也好,在他们成功之前都有一段漫长的沉寂、不被看好的时期。他们承受住了寂寞、落败和旁人的冷眼并且从未迷失自己认定的方向才有了后来的掌声。之前在微博上有看到一个成功人士劝告年轻人毕业十年之内不要参加同学聚会,因为同学聚会会形成不良的竞争,那些事业起步晚的人会丧失对自己未来的信心。虽然不太赞同十年不参加同学聚会的做法,但是我同意他所说的观点,同学之间的互相比较会形成不良的竞争。每个人都有自己独特的人生之路,有人成功早,有人成功晚,有人行走在康庄大道上,也有人喜欢曲径通幽处。因此如果选择了一条与大多数人不一样的道路,就不要被旁人的评价所左右,更不要以别人的生活为尺度来自我衡量。

福特这家百年车企,正因为已经有一定的规模而无法分心去全心研制新的技术。也许他也不想去全心投入,因为在现有的领域他还是领头羊。就像当年的柯达一样,其实柯达是第一个研制出数码相机的厂家,但当时的他也是胶卷销量最高的公司。数码相机完全是胶卷的天敌,所以柯达决定保住自己的胶卷产业而封杀了数码相机。可是科技的趋势是一个公司无法阻拦的。最后柯达只能被时代给抛下了。

埃隆做事的两个特点,一个是追求完美,一个一不做二不休

本章首先提到对tesla车型的改造,设计的日臻完善,不管在经济上还是人力成本、资源方面,都投入了真金白银的大量心血。

订单不能变现,那么就用最笨的办法,召集所有部门的人力,不管大家的分工是什么,先把预定订单全部变为已付款为止。同时任人唯贤,大刀阔斧,卓有成效。
