4月26日下午, 我们被邀请到美国艺术家艾伦 Flesher先生工作室，位于上海浦东航头，就中西艺术和教育概念进行了访谈，视频发表在在新浪微博《大师的追随者张润萍》(人文艺术博主) 主页。艾伦. "Zhang Runping new space for Chinese and foreign art"Host: artist Zhang RunpingLive Video: artist Pang ZhenyongArtist Shen Yasheng andAmerican artist Alan Flesher.On the afternoon of April 26, artist Zhang Runping, together with artist Pang Zhenyong and Shen Yasheng, were invited to the studio of Alan Flesher, an American artist in Hangtou, Pudong New Area, Nanhui. Interviews were conducted between Chinese and Western concepts of art and education. The scene was presided over by Zhang Runping, Pang Zhenyong's video recording, Shen Yasheng's translation, and Mr. Alan Flesher and the artist's friends in interactive videos that have been posted one after another on Sina Weibo, " Master's followers Zhang Runping " ( Humanities and Art blogger's ) home page. Alan Flesher came to Shanghai from Pennsylvania 12 1/2 years ago to enjoy having Thanksgiving dinner with his son, who teaches in Shanghai. A visit to a relative,that constituted another chapter in his life to express himself on a distant shore continuing his journey with gratitude; and stayed in China.He grew up in the United States, in a family with a strong artistic atmosphere in New Jersey. His father was a jazz musician, and his mother, as a young women was a milliner, designing high fashion hats in New York City. So Alan also inherited the artistic cells of his parents, exhibiting in his first museum group exhibition when he was 10 years. One of his paintings was selected and won an Honorable Mention in a statewide art competition held in the New Jersey State Art Museum. In his teens, his paintings were on display in reputable art galleries. After university he became a furniture designer and was recognized for his originality creating functional art pieces being commissioned by the CEO of Buick Automobile of General Motors to design furniture from parts of their cars for their executive offices in Detroit Michigan. Later his interests turned to leather and became a notable leather goods designer. Building a leather factory that he operated for 33 years employing 90 people. Alan is a multidimensional Artist blessed with many talents and has pursued a wide range of interests. And as a Vegetarian teaches Vegetarian cooking. His wife is a very famous pastry chef creating desserts that are featured in Vogue magazine. He showed us his house in the United States, a one hundred eighty year old Victorian Villa filled with antique furniture from the period. After his wife's death, he was alone with his garden and painting, and then he spent days yearning until he missed his son and came to Shanghai. Alan teaches in a private school with unique teaching methods and various ways to guide students to create and cherish nature and animals, even encouraging their confidence by paying for the students' installation work. I picked up the paper tube for the microphone interview, and Alan spoke. In the United States, education stands for independent thinking and operation, cultivating children's self-confidence and ability. Where the teacher is careful to take care of guidance, not criticizing the students, to develop a sensitive learning environment helping students form good personalities. I asked : you are both a teacher and an exploration artist. In teaching, you are a great friend. When you create, you are a poet and an old man with a double personality, both young heart, and deep feelings. Could you please introduce a painting? He pointed to one of the biggest paintings : I painted my wife, and she planted flowers in the garden. It was her beautiful dream. You know, some flowers and plants can be eaten, it's delicious to make a salad. When she was busy, she was so lovely as an angel that she often immersed me in the picture, and there was this painting. I created the color points of this painting using the point of a chopstick and the painting is not fixed. So it can show the green onion of the grass, that looks like the grass in the south of the Yangtze River with flowers popping out of the grass, like a concert with the scenery around them. Alan points to another painting. This painting is of a Chinese woman wearing cheongsam with respecting their beauty and elegance showing Chinese cultural elements together, to make it look poetic.It is impossible to see that this artist, whom my husband and I have met several times in a restaurant, is old enough to enjoy life with ease.
